Mass Art partnered with the Buttonwood Park Zoo and Handshouse Studio to design and build toys for two elephants, Emily and Ruth. The elephants require enrichment activities to keep them mentally and physically active. My team’s goal was to design a hay feeder that an elephant could pick up with their trunk, which was also not too heavy for a zoo keeper to move.
The team included: Sarah Nault, Savanna Nelson and Matt Neidhardt.
